There are now setup tutorials for the following 2 games: Zombie Panic and Goldeneye: Source. Enjoy those and have a Happy New Year!

As I promised on the forums, I have completed a tutorial that will teach you how to lower the bass or volume in your sounds using GoldWave! This is very helpful for those techno songs that have a lot of bass, the loud rock songs that you want to lower the volume on... you get the point ;). You will now see a link to our Bass / Volume tutorial on the left menu. And if I don't update before the 25th: have a Merry Christmas!

By popular request, I have added a tutorial on how to setup HLSS for Garry's Mod 9!

November 18, 2005
We are now #3 on Google with the keyword "HLSS"! This is outstanding considering the fact that we only started 8 months ago from scratch, and 100% unheard of. Now we are the #1 website on the internet for anything and everything HLSS related! Soon, we will be adding a tutorial on how to adjust the volume/bass of a song. This is a good thing to learn because a lot songs don't sound good when played over the voice system because of their intense bass. Expect this, and more good things to come at HLSS.US!

I've made some corrections in grammar/spelling, and changed some of the links in this update. You may not notice a difference, but there were a lot of grammar/spelling corrections made. If you happen to notice any grammar, spelling, or link errors, please let me know by emailing me (see 'contact me'). A new version of dBpowerAMP, the program we recommend using for converting wavs, has been released. Get the new version (11.5) in the downloads section! And dont forget to join our growing forums. We currently have almost 350 registered users!

A tutorial on how to set up HLSS for Hostile Intent (a Half-Life 1 mod) is now available! We just passed 300 registered users on our forums too. Don't forget to register for the forums, and post in them if you haven't already.

A tutorial on how to set up HLSS for Day of Defeat: Source is now available! This comes a day before the game has even been officially released. The tutorial should be 100% accurate for when the game is actually enabled tomorrow.

We're on a roll! In the last 4 days, tutorials have been released for 5 new third-party Steam mods. Two of those are in this update. Be sure to now check out tutorials for the following new games: The Specialists and Earth's Special Forces.

Many great Source mod's are also being released and/or beta tested. We will be adding tutorials for some of the more popular ones in the future, so look forward to that.

September 21, 2005
Added a configuration tutorial for The Battle Grounds (a half-life 1 mod). Also, expect a DOD:S tutorial soon after that comes out on Monday September 26th!

September 19, 2005
HLSS.US is now supporting third-party Steam games! Today we released 2 new configuration tutorials for these third-party mods: Natural Selection and Sven Co-op. I will be checking out more third-party mods, and adding their tutorials soon. If you would like to see a configuration tutorial for a third-party mod we don't support yet, email me and let me know (see contact me).

I'm updating just to let you all know that we're still here. There's just not much action in the HLSS world. DOD:S is coming out in about 11 days, and we will have a tutorial on how to set up HLSS for that game very soon after it's released. Remember to sign up for the forums, and to keep them active! We currently have about 275 registered users, but very few of you are avid posters. Our most popular section is the help section, so you can stop by and help those who are having problems setting up HLSS. That's all for now!

Just wanted to mention that I am renting a new Counter-Strike 1.6 server! It has EXCELLENT sound quality since we are using the SPEEX sound codec with the sv_voicequality cvar set to 5. Be sure to stop by and play some tunes. Don't worry, you wont get kicked/banned for playing music at this server! Have fun, and don't forget to tell your friends about it!

Hello! Sorry for the lack of updates. There's just not much new happening in the HLSS world lately. Added 1 new FAQ today. The server we mentioned in June 1st's update is also being taken down sometime today.

We are approaching 200 forum users as well! Sometime soon, I want to hire a few moderators to watch over the forums so they don't get too hectic with all the new members. If that interests you, and you would like to do that in the future, start becoming an active forum member. I visit the forums almost every day, so I will be able to notice the active members. That's all for now, thanks!

To anyone who has had the problem with being able to only play 1 song, and then not being able to play any more after that: we think we have found a solution for this problem.

Please update your autoexec.cfg files with the one found on your game's tutorial page. If your game doesnt appear in the list of games we support, and you still want to fix this problem, you can use any autoexec.cfg in any game's tutorial as they are all the same.

Thanks to our forums user 'praxis' for helping with this one.

Added new tutorials for 3 more Steam games! The 3 new games we now support are: Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, and Ricochet. If you encounter any problems with anything, please visit our forums.

Speaking of the forums, they are growing! We now have 53 registered users. Don't forget to sign up if you haven't already!

And lastly, the FAQ section has a fix for a problem that has bothered tons of people. See question 13 in the FAQ section for a fix to a problem that almost EVERYONE using HLSS has. Most people don't even see that they have this problem, so check it out now!

Just an update to let you all know that I have opened a Counter-Strike: Source server! It's called "SoadLink's Fun Maps Server", and we will be playing all kinds of fun maps there. Right now theres just a few surf maps and 1 other custom map, but as we find more fun maps, we will add them to the rotation.

See ya there!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Not much has been going on. Updated a few of the pages with grammar corrections today. The forums are also growing. Remember to sign up for them if you haven't, and post something! Also, tell a friend about hlss.us!

Soon we will be adding an uploads/downloads section that will allow users to upload and download any .wav file they wish. It will require free registration to help lower the amount of bandwidth it will take. That's all for now, thanks

Added an 'older news' section. Here you will find all news that's not on the main page that was posted in the past. I will attempt to keep the main page limited to 3-5 news updates to keep it looking good, so if you need to see the older updates, they now have a new section. The 'older news' section is pretty plain, but gets the job done well. I feel it doesn't need to be all fancy since it's just an archive of old news updates.

In other notes, remember to sign up for the forums again! After our switch to the new and better host, we lost the forums, so lets get those going again. That's all for now, thanks!

April 28, 2005
We switched hosts! The old host suspended our account by accident. We were also having problems with the company when they tried billing me for more than I owed. So the switch is for the better. On the bad side, the forums will be reset to about a week ago. So once again, and hopefully for the last time ever, please register for the forums!

Also, connecting to HLSS.US will be much faster now with the new host, as we are no longer a sub-domain! Thanks from HLSS.US, the best website for everything HLSS related!

April 26, 2005
Just thought I'd post an update letting you all know the forums are growing, and that we are currently in 7th place on Google if you search the term 'HLSS' which is great because we're on the first page! This should surely bring in some visitors considering Google is a very popular search engine.

Some future additions to the site might include a news archive for all the old news, and an advertising page for buttons and banners other sites can use to link/affiliate with us.

April 17, 2005
Added a new section called 'Contact Me' that can be found on the left. Use it if you need to contact me for any reason. And don't forget to SIGN UP FOR THE FORUMS! Let's make www.hlss.us the biggest and best HLSS community out there!

April 14, 2005
By accident, the forums were deleted! I am very sorry about this, but you will all have to re-register. Backups will be created often in the future to prevent this from happening again. This actually came out to be a somewhat positive event considering I added a few more topics that users can now post in. Be sure to sign up at the forums today!

April 13, 2005
Fixed up the FAQs section. Now it should be easier to find a certain question you're looking for. Also, be sure to sign up for out forums if you haven't already. And post something to help get them going!

April 1, 2005
All of the articles and tutorials have all been completed, so all the links should be fixed. If you notice any spelling or grammatical errors, email me and let me know. Also, since we are a new website, the forums are very empty! Don't forget to sign up and post in them. And be sure to tell your friends about HLSS.US!
